The Creator Program Games Contest was announced in April 1997 at the Computer Games Developer's Conference. Registration for the contest closed on June 20, 1997. Any game that utilized Silicon Graphics workstations and products during any phase of the development cycle was eligible to compete. Each participant received a T-shirt, each category winner received a Nintendo 64 system, and the grand prize winner received a copy of GameGen II from MultiGen, Inc. Categories were judged by five judges selected from different divisions within Silicon Graphics, and were graded on creativity, intuitiveness, user-friendliness, and integration of media. The winner in each category was the entry with the highest aggregate score, and the grand prize winner was selected from the highest overall score. Categories with less than two entries were not awarded prizes. |
